Sweet Tarts of the Rodeo benefit set
The United Court of the Lone Star Empire will host "Sweet Tarts of the Rodeo" fundraising show on Saturday Feb. 27 at the Dallas Eagle, 5740 Maple Ave.
The pre-event cocktail hour starts at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. UCLSE, in conjunction with the Big D Rodeo of the Texas Gay Rodeo Association, will be working together at the event, providing entertainers from across Texas as well as several auction items up for bid.
Emcees for the evening are Kari Lynn Summers and Sapphire Rose.
YFT holding open house space
Youth First Texas, the community resource center for GLBTQ youth in North Texas, will host an open house on Friday, March 5, to showcase new programs that YFT offers and recognize the donors who have made the move possible. The event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with remarks at 6:30 p.m., according to board Co-Chairs TJ Wilson and Cathy Gonzalez.
The event is free and open to the public, and YFT officials said they hope that non-profit agencies serving the LGBTQ community, donors, youth, civic groups and anyone interested in learning more about Youth First Texas will attend.
The facility, located at 3918 Harry Hines Boulevard at Reagan Street in Oak Lawn, now allows the organization serving LGBTQ youth from ages 14 to 22 to have a centralized location with plenty of room for growth. Refreshments and light snacks will be served.
CCGLA holding meeting on census
Collin County Gay and Lesbian Alliance, Equality Texas and the U.S. Census Bureau are partnering together to present a "U.S. Census North Texas LGBT Mixer" on Friday, March 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at a private home in Plano. For details on the location, go online to CCGLA.org.

GAIN holding mixer
Members of GAIN (The GLBT Aging Interest Network) invites interested people to join them Thursday, March 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Urban Dog Coffee, 2720 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. A, for a chance to learn more about the organization.
