Conference coming due to groups’ hard work
Thank you for giving the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s 2010 Creating Change event coverage and such prominent placement in the Feb. 27 issue of the Dallas Voice.
I would like to note that Creating Change’s selection of Dallas was not a coincidence. National and international LGBT organization conferences and events are actively pursued by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Tavern Guild.
All three organizations regularly collaborate to promote Dallas as a GLBT-welcoming city and a great place for all people to live, work and visit.
Because of these efforts, groups like Creating Change are selecting Dallas, and this single event is expected to have a $2.69 million economic impact on the city.
We thank and commend the North Texas GLBT Chamber, the Dallas Tavern Guild and the community for their travel and tourism efforts. Collectively, we look forward to many other upcoming announcements — and wonderful coverage by the Dallas Voice — in the coming years.
