Chuckling over smoker’s comment
I got a chuckle out of the remark from a guy named Randy Walker quoted in the article about the smoking ban ("Bars hope smoking ban brings back customers," Dallas Voice, April 10).
He says he doesn’t smoke in his house or his car but does expect the privilege of smoking in a bar where other people must endure his second-hand smoke.
What’s up with that?
He doesn’t want his house or car to stink with his smoke, but I’m expected to bring his smoke smell back home with me?
Give me a break!

As an older gay man, I have endured years of second hand smoke while at the bars. I commend Dallas on this smoking ban and hope it catches on in other states as well.
The incident cited by James Prock is a prime example of the way some smokers think. A sense of entitlement, if you will.
