New-kid-on-the-block Kevin Moriarty isn’t really the new kid anymore. The Dallas Theater Center’s artistic director was selected by the board 11 months ago and started working in Dallas last September. In that time, he’s been a fixture attending theater around town, soaking in the culture, but he hasn’t had much to do the with current season, which ends next month with “The Misanthrope.”
But now Moriarty gets to show off his own stuff.
Tonight, the Dallas Theater Center is holding an announcement party for the 2008-09 season — Moriarty’s first and the last that will take place primarily at the Kalita Humphreys Theater in Oak Lawn. (The new Wyly Theatre opens in November 2009.)
So what has Moriarty selected to demonstrate to Dallas what his vision is? He’s hinted at some stuff (he’s promised at least one modern musical, for instance — and we suspect “A Christmas Carol” will figure into the bill) but the full reveal takes place tonight.  And we’re hoping that Moriarty, who is gay, squeezes some queer content into the season. Check back on this space to find out the season first.сайтseo продвижение лендинга
