NEWARK, N.J. — A federal judge on Friday said New Jersey’s law prohibiting therapists from trying to turn gay youth straight does not violate free speech or religious protection, the Associated Press reported.
Gov. Chris Christie signed a ban on the controversial practice, known as gay conversion therapy, in August. California was the first, and the only other, state to ban the practice. A federal appeals court upheld the state’s statute in August.
