Time is running out. Vote!

We have to vote.

I may be preaching to the choir here. And, if so, I hope you’ll share this with anyone and everyone you know who might not be choir members.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

I keep hearing we have to vote like our lives depend on it. I wish that was hyperbole. It’s not. Time is running out.

We have to vote.

And though I am not generally in the business of telling anyone who to vote for, I think this time it bears saying: One candidate has the future of America and her citizens in mind, and the other thinks only of himself and money and power.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

This is no longer hypothetical. He wants to use our armies against our citizens. Against us. He doesn’t believe that women have a right to manage their own bodies and health care. He is racist and homophobic and misogynist and idolizes Hitler.

That bears reading again: He idolizes Hitler.

This isn’t a game. This isn’t about Republicans or Democrats. This isn’t about differing opinions.

This is about right and wrong. This is about freedom. This is about common sense and kindness and reality.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

We have to assure that people’s rights — ALL people’s rights — are protected. We have to assure that women have their rights. We have to assure that BIPOC people have their rights. We have to assure that LGBTQ+ people have their rights.

We have to assure that people of every religion have their rights.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

This is the end of the line. If he gets elected, it will be too late.

It will be too late to save the environment. It will be too late to save women. It will be too late to save the LGBTQ community. It will be too late to save our relationships with other countries. It will be too late to save our schools, our economy, our social security and — if we’re being honest — our America.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

And we have to talk to others about voting. No one is going to take anyone’s guns. No one is going to take away anyone’s Bibles. No one is going to give your child a sex-change operation at school.

We have to speak the truth. We have to stop mincing words. We have to be clear. He is not fit. He has nothing to offer.

This is not a funny meme. He’s lost. And we will ALL lose if he wins.

Time is running out. We have to vote.

He is sick. She is healthy. He is mentally unstable. She is well-adjusted. He is ignorant. She is brilliant. He is cruel. She is kind. He is thoughtless. She is empathetic. He is self-centered. She is giving.

He has no policy. He has no plan. He has no sense, no soul.

She is joyful and hopeful and forward thinking.

There is no comparison. There is no choice. There is no future if he is elected.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

“They go low, we go high” went too far. We can’t keep being nice. We can’t keep playing nice. We can’t “respect others’ opinions” when those “opinions” are a matter of life and death for many of us.
Life and death.

Women will die. BIPOC people will die. Trans people will die. Poor people will die. There will be sadness and suffering.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

There was a time when politics was a matter of a difference of opinions. Should we use lottery funds for education? Should we raise taxes for everyone? What should minimum wage be?

Now there is an entire political party that is run by white supremacists. This isn’t calling names; this is the reality.
Project 2025 is abhorrent. We have to stop him. We have to stop them.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

This isn’t America. This is not what our forefathers wanted. This isn’t right. This isn’t ok. This isn’t the path forward for anyone.

And, let’s be clear, if you know people who are voting for him, they don’t love you. They don’t. No one who loves you would vote for someone who wishes you didn’t exist.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

If this sounds direct, that’s because it is. If this sounds scary, that’s because it is. If this sounds like a time of desperation, that’s because it is. This election is not like any election before.

Not any.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.

This election decides who we will be as a country moving forward. There will be no going back from a hate-filled, racist, misogynist, anti-LGBTQ, all-Christian “America.”

No. Going. Back.

This isn’t about the cost of gas or groceries. This isn’t about tax rates. This isn’t about a difference of opinion.

This is about humanity.

Time is running out.

We have to vote.
