Gay Dallas filmmaker Israel Luna hasn’t forgotten the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s decision to condemn his Ticked-Off Trannies With Knives. Luna responds by defaming GLAAD with this freshly posted parody titled, How To Win A GLAAAD Award. (The extra “A” presumably is a dig at those who sought to replace the “A” in the title of the film with an asterisk.) Have a look.
This is an immature and tasteless attack on an organization that has done so much for our community. It’s not about celebrities and parties, it’s about changing perception. This was almost as tasteless as the “movie” that started this tiff in the first place. Why don’t you grow up and do something productive with your energy.

This was not something that anyone asked Mr Luna to do, and was a suggestion by Dustin lance Black as a way to mollify.. urm… placate.. wait, no… show his sensitivity to trans people. It has also been used as traction for Israel to paint those of us who have been pointing out the problems in the film and marketing and the “conversations” around the film as being unreasonable and unwilling to accept concessions.
This just shows just how shallow his magnanimous gesture really was.
For the record, I’m no fan of GLAAD either.
The movie sucked and they should both send each other “Thank You’s ” for all the free press! I find it sad that a web porn star gets 1600 hit’s on this site and the real news gets only 400 hit’s. WHY is it that way? Where are the best Garage sales and resale shops! Promote somthing like the city’s largest group kissing after the parade in Lee Park! You don’t speak to your audiance. You only write to your overpriced realestate investors.The nuts never made a cent off of advertising in the Voice only self promotion of themselves.
