House of Pies, a mainstay of Houston’s Montrose neighborhood and better known in the gay community as House of Guys, was damaged by fire yesterday.
The fire began on the roof. Someone outside the restaurant saw the flames and alerted everyone inside to get out. There were no injuries.
The restaurant, located on Kirby Drive near Alabama Street, opened in 1967. The manager said they plan to repair the building and reopen by Thanksgiving.
