A day after Houston voters turned down the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance, Houston’s ABC affiliate reports the city was denied a bid to host the college football playoffs in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
There’s no word on whether the two are related.
Houston LGBT activist Bryan Hlavinka asked, “Is this the beginning?”
Instead of Houston, the playoffs will be held in Atlanta in 2018, Santa Clara in 2019 and New Orleans in 2020. those cities all have nondiscrimination ordinances.
