HBO, which came under attack this week for beginning its exclusive television coverage of the “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial” five minutes after Rev. Gene Robinson’s invocation, is doing its part to fix this mess.
An updated version of the broadcast will air on HBO on Jan. 21 at 10:30 p.m. — and this time will include Robinson’s prayer.
There will also be rebroadcasts on Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 2:30 p.m., and will be available on HBO.com starting tomorrow.
The live broadcast HBO opened to anyone with cable/satellite access so many who may not subscribe to HBO most likely saw the live broadcast. Does the same hold true for the updated version and rebroadcast? Personally, I would be pleasantly surprised if it was. My inclination is to think it won’t be.
I’m not sure, but it will be available for free on HBO.com.
It is NOT free on the HBO channel. I canceled my subscription on Monday in protest. The web site DOES NOT work with Macs or Linux. It should be FREE on TV. HBO needs to make things right. I mean really, they can show it now, but not on Sunday. Give me a break.
