I’ve gotten a few e-mails from readers asking about when the festivities are this year down along Cedar Springs, since Halloween actually falls on a Saturday this year. So here’s the scoop:
• Sat., Oct. 24, is the street party and parade.
• Sat., Oct. 31, is the night of costume contests.
So basically, you get the best of both worlds.
Best of both worlds? More like trying to milk the crap out of Halloween by spreading it out over two weekends (and potentially confusing thousands of people).
Just the strip trying to take advantage of people and stuff their pockets two weekends in a row. It’s BS. Greed. Plain and simple greed. Greed has been the downfall of many. I suggest not going to the organized street parade, and reverting back to the old impromptu street parade as it originally was.
I agree with JE and Carl. Halloween is 10/31, and that is a Sat this year. I swear the whole neighborhood is going down the drain. I wish people would just ignore the celebration on the 24th.
I cannot agree more with AA, Carl and je….
i clicked the comments to basically state the same thing that was already stated here… talk about greed! shame!
I will NEVER go to that party again. As Carl said, “just trying to take advantage of people and stuff their pockets”…NO THANK YOU!!! I can have just as much fun at home with a house full of people I DO know. I gave up on the Cedar Springs scene YEARRRRRS ago.
