Katy Graham

Officials with The Women’s Chorus of Dallas announced this week that Katy Graham has been named as the new executive director of the chorus.

Graham replaces Barbara Beggs who left the chorus to pursue a career in sales, according to Melinda Imthurn, artistic director of the chorus.

Graham comes to the chorus from a position as director of development for the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind.

She also has worked as a development associate for Catholic Charities and as national sales manager for Ridout and Roberts.

In all her previous jobs, Graham “distinguished herself with great successes in donor relations, fundraising, sales and grant acquisition,” Imthurn said in a statement released this week.

As executive director of the Women’s Chorus, Graham will be in charge of volunteer development, public relations, fundraising, grant writing and marketing.

During her first week with the chorus, she completed two grant applications and is already assisting with publicity efforts for a comprehensive membership drive, Imthurn said.

Graham is also working with a committee to plan the Gifts and Glitter Gala, the chorus’ largest annual fundraising event.

“TWCD looks forward to Ms. Graham using her expertise to increase publicity and ticket sales, enhance donor and volunteer relations and boost income from fundraising and grants,” Imthurn said.

“Her support will help to amplify the voices of the Women’s Chorus of Dallas by ensuring that as many people as possible hear the chorus’s excellent musical product.”
