LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization GLAAD announced this week that the 37th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, held March 5 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, begin streaming Saturday,  March 21, on HULU. This is the sixth consecutive year that the GLAAD Media Awards will be streamed on Hulu.

The awards, hosted by actor and producer Jonathan Bennett, featured recognition of recipients in more than 30 categories this year and a special surprise appearance of Emmy-, Grammy-, Oscar- and Tony Award-winning icon Liza Minnelli. The legendary performer received GLAAD’s Inaugural Liza Minnelli Storyteller Award in honor of her upcoming memoir Kids, Wait Till You Hear This!

Emmy-, Actor Award- and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, producer, writer and showrunner Quinta Brunson was there to accept the Vanguard Award, while Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, co-hosts of the podcast Las Culturistas, received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award.

Casts of Heated Rivalry, The Traitors, Palm Royale, Stranger Things, Southern Hospitality and MS NOW’s The Weekend with Jonathan Capehart and Eugene Daniels accepted awards in their respective categories.

Hosts of podcasts I’ve Had It and Handsome also accepted awards onstage.

Texans were well-represented at the celebration, with superstar Demi Lovato opening show with a performance of her hit “Kiss.” And Dallas’ own Jason Hanna and Joe Riggs and their two sons — who appeared last year in Magnolia Network’s reality show Back to the Frontier — were there as well.

Other Texans — past and present — attending the awards gala included history-making Olympic figure skate Amber Glenn, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie, Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying and his husband, Mark Hoying and screenwriter/producer/director and activist Dustin Lance Black and his husband, Olympic diving champion Tom Daley.
