In Friday’s edition, Paul J. Williams, who stars as Mrs. Garrett in “The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode” inside the Rose Room, wondered whether Uptown Players’ subscribers — and the Station 4 clientele — would take to having a full-length play performed there. Turns out it the answer is “yes.” Word is in the show will be extended beyond its scheduled June 29 closing date, although details still need to be worked out.

The Rose Room is actually an awesome venue and it kinda makes me sad that it’s just used for drag shows. I’ve written before that bands would kill to play in such a great place. I just wish S4 would think outside of the pink hatbox and book more live music there. Local stuff too. Hello, Dan Paul, Black Tie Dynasty, Lovie etc. etc. etc….lotsa talent around these parts to showcase.
Rich, Thanks, the Rose Room IS an awesome venue, and we’ve hosted rock concerts, gay bingo, plays, corporate events, fundraisers, launch parties, and lots more…. but it was deisgned to be the Southest’s premiere showcase for female impersonation, and as such it is without equal. BTW, if you’re a fan of live music check out Sue Ellen’s Vixin Room.
