SPOTLIGHT: Gay Agenda Spotlight: Couple’s Communication Workshop
Communication is the key to happy, healthy relationships. And good communication consists of learned skills, according to Candy Marcum, LPC.
Unfortunately many people learned how to communicate by watching how their parents, and therein lies the problem, Marcum added.
So if your parents didn’t communicate well and you inherited that problem, join Marcum and fellow counselor Jimmy Owen, LPC, for a two-weekend workshop designed to teach couples the skills necessary to resolve and prevent conflict.
Those skills will include learning to speak for yourself, listening to your partner and the importance of communicating that awareness to one another. The counselors promise by the end you’ll understand what makes each other tick and why conflicts arise.
Cost is $440 per couple, and couples must be able to attend both weekends.
