Gabbi Tuft, right, and in her former incarnation as ‘Tyler Reks,’ left.

Gabbi Tuft, the former WWE wrestler known as “Tyler Reks,” came out publicly today (Thursday, Feb. 4) as a transgender woman, confirming that her pronouns are “she” and “her,” and saying that she is “about to share her thrilling story of gender transitioning from a former WWE superstar, body builder, fitness guru, motivational speaker and motorcycle racer to a fun loving and fabulous female. She has been finally set free and [is] ready to rule her world.”

Tuft will make an appearance Friday, Feb. 5, on EXTRA to talk more about her transition.

The press release continues, “Despite his successes during and after his WWE career, Gabe was still wrestling with a secret persona dwelling deep within him. This is a persona he has been hiding in the loud silence of his soul since childhood. Finally, with the blessing of his loving wife Priscilla, Gabe is ready to reveal who he really is. ‘He’ is now known as ‘she,’ a beautiful, wise, witty and wonderful woman called ‘Gabbi.’”

The press release also says that Gabbi and Priscilla are “willing to help” those in the :GBTQ community “challenging transgender issues.”

In recent social media posts, according to TooFab, Gabbi has not completely come out as trans, but has said that the last 10 days have been “the most monumental countdown of my life,” adding in a post today, “I am no longer afraid. Fear has been replaced with the highest vibrational state of gratitude. I am grateful for my past, for who I started this life as, for who I was, for who I am now and for who I am becoming.

“Tomorrow [Friday, Feb. 5], I close this book of my life and begin a new one,” the post continued. “Tomorrow I start a new book of life … Tomorrow, I invite you to share and celebrate this monumental moment with me.”

She also said in earlier social media posts that her life has been an open book except for two experiences, her former steroid use and “the second aspect” which would “be revealed soon.”

“True happiness,” she wrote, “begins by accepting WHO we are, and it has nothing to do with the external shell.”

Tuft was a professional WWE wrestler from 2007-2014. After she retired, she and her wife Priscilla created a fitness company called Body Spartan. Gabbi and Priscilla have one daughter, Mia.
