In the rush to cover the death of Heath Ledger, People magazine’s online coverage claimed “Hollywood” reacted with shock over Ledger, and then went on to quote two “fellow Australians” — Mel Gibson and Nicole Kidman.
Thing is, both of them are AMERICANS.
Kidman was born in Hawaii and lived in Washington, D.C., until she was 4; Gibson moved Down Under when he was 12 (!). Both have that Aussie accent, but to call them Australians is simply wrong. Ledger, by contrast, actually IS from Australia.

Nice, but I think it is sometimes not enough to get it complete.
Both Mel and Nicole have Australian citizenship I would have thought that qualified them as Australian . American born but Aussie citizens .
