Turtle Creek Park will be packed with people on Easter Sunday, April 5 from 1-4 p.m. for Easter in the Park. The event will be staged by the Turtle Creek Conservancy.

An Easter egg hunt for kids starts at 1:30 p.m. with 15,000 eggs hidden throughout the park. Take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

At 2 p.m. the pooch parade kicks off. Bring your pooch dressed to the nines or wearing just an Easter bonnet. Costume categories include Easter inspired, spring costume, most creative, look alike and best group. Registration is $25 and can be done online.

Don’t have a pup? Visit the pet adoption area with local rescue organizations looking for good homes.

And this year Easter in the Park returns to its roots. The event started in the mid 1960s as a Dallas Symphony Orchestra outdoor concert and picnic on the lawn. Well, the whole orchestra won’t be there but the Dallas Symphony Brass Quartet will be — performing at 3 p.m. as people enjoy a picnic on the lawn. Don’t want to bring your lunch? Food trucks will offer a variety of entrees to enjoy while listening to the music.
