The Dallas Chapter of the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA/Dallas) recently announced that Larry Hamilton and Ted Hamilton have been chosen as honorary chairs for the organization’s 2008 Jacket Collection event, “Cinema de la Vie.”

Larry Hamilton is CEO and Ted Hamilton is president of Hamilton Properties Corporation. The father and son duo were introduced as honorary chairs at an event held Dec. 13 at Bailey Banks & Biddle at NorthPark Center.

Larry and Ted Hamilton have been described as two of Dallas’ most successful residential real estate developers as well as leading forces behind the resurgence of urban living in Downtown Dallas.

With the opening of The Mosaic Building in 2007, the Hamiltons capped off the restoration of three historic buildings, including the Dallas Power & Light building and the Davis Building, in Downtown Dallas and the conversion of those buildings into high-rise residences. In the Mosaic, the Hamiltons teamed with Aperture Concepts on the launch of an innovative European restaurant, Scene, lead by restaurateurs Michael Bratcher and executive chef Blaine Staniford.

Neale Jones, 2008 Dallas Collection chair and a DIFFA/Dallas trustee, said the organization is delighted to have Larry and Ted Hamilton as honorary chairs of the event.

“Their passion for urban revitalization and their concern for the increasing incidence of HIV and AIDS in young people should be commended,” Jones said.

Cinema de la Vie is set for Feb. 23 at The Hilton Anatole Hotel. For ticket and table sales information, visit www.diffadallas.org or call 214.748.8580.
