Need an excuse to get dirty, rip and stain some of your clothes, and learn the basic laws of ball handling? On Saturday, you can get a taste of the action at the Dallas Diablos Boot Camp, a one-day intensive practice to meet the team, get some fitness and learn the game.

Rugby cleats are called “boots.” So if you own a pair, wear them. Soccer cleats or athletic shoes will also do. And if you have a mouthguard, bring that, too.
If the only thing you know about rugby is an appreciation for striped short-sleeved jerseys, don’t fret. The Diablos know how to coach you from supporter to athlete.

Sept. 9. Boot camp from 9 a.m. to noon, lunch and rugby-video session, noon to 3 p.m. Lake Highlands Drive at Buckner Boulevard. For information, visit DallasDiablos.org or contact Steve at captain@dallasdiablos.org
