State Rep. Kenneth Sheets speaks at a Log Cabin Republicans meeting earlier this year.

Things aren’t looking so good for Democrats who were hoping to pick up a Dallas County seat in the Texas House.

In District 107, Republican Rep. Kenneth Sheets leads Robert Miklos after early voting, 16,259 votes to 14,537, or 53 percent to 47 percent.

The other local House races that were believed to be in play tonight aren’t as close.

In District 105, Republican Rep. Linda Harper Brown leads Rosemary Robbins, 14,460 votes to 12,509, or 53 percent to 46 percent.

In District 102, Republican Rep. Stefani Carter leads Rich Hancock, 20,218 votes to 13,589, or 60 percent to 40 percent.

And in District 114, Jason Villalba leads Carol Kent with 23,105 votes to 17,424, or 57 percent to 43 percent.

These races could change as Election Day returns come in later tonight. But right now these four Republicans are looking pretty good.
