James Harley Murer, an aviation flight mechanic, passed away March 21, 2008, in Dallas.

Born June 7, 1947, in Rome, N.Y., to Howard and Josephine Murer, Jim will be remembered as a kind, generous and fun-loving man. As a lover of life, he enjoyed the culinary arts, and he was always thinking of and doing things for others.
Jim was the former owner of Aviation Maintenance and traveled around the world while working at the U.S. Embassy and Bell Helicopter. He worked and loved his time in Bangkok, Thailand and South America, where he forged friendships that lasted a lifetime.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Murer, and his grandparents.
Survivors include his partner of 25 years, Natt Nontakon of DeSoto; parents, Howard Murer of Clinton, N.Y., and Josephine Murer of De Soto; sister, Joanne Murer of Stillwater, Okla.; special friends, Max and Pete, Mike and Jeanette Jurek, Mike and Robin Smith, Mike and Tong, Victor, Pat and Steve, and Janice Jillson — along with friends too numerous to mention around the world. He will be missed by beloved pets Lucky, Cocoa, Princess and Precious.
A celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at the home he shared with Nontakon at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29.
