Dawar (David) R. Bokhari, 49, died of cancer Dec. 8, four days short of his 50th birthday, at Legacy Founders Cottage in Dallas.
Born Dec. 12, 1958 in Pakistan, Bokhari had lived in the Dallas area for the past 33 years. He was educated at a private boarding school in Pakistan before coming to the United States in 1975 and continuing his education at the University of Texas at Arlington. He was employed with Denny’s Restaurants for 15 years, working his way up from waiter to manager at the restaurant on North Central Expressway. He was a very proud and giving man who always greeted people with a big smile.
He is survived by his mother and two brothers, and by his special friends Nick, Michael, David and Alfred. He will be truly missed by his family, his employees at Denny’s and his friends, who offered a special thank you to the staff, volunteers and residents of Legacy Cottage and Vitas Hospice that worked tirelessly to make his last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
