Gregory Brent Lashley

Gregory Brent Lashley, 57, of Dallas, formerly of Wichita, Kan., passed away on June 7 at his home.

He was a 1967 graduate of Southeast High School in Wichita and he graduated from University of Kansas. He was a Vietnam veteran.

Lashley was an inspiration to family and friends as he battled Agent Orange cancer for seven years.

He was a longtime employee of HomeSteps, a Freddie Mac unit in Carrollton, as well as a real estate agent with Ebby Halliday Realtors.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Royce. He is survived by a life partner of 19 years, Dean C. Smauder; brothers Jack Jr. and Roger and families, both of Wichita; sister, Jan Smith and family of Wichita; many nieces and nephews; as well as many special friends. Greg was a devoted and active member of the Cathedral of Hope church.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road.

A second memorial service will be held July 15 at First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway in Wichita.
