Larry Donald McGee, 60, of Dallas, died June 25 at the Treemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility of complications from a head injury.

A native of Savannah, Ga., McGee had lived in the Dallas area for the past 21 years. He was graduated from Aiken High School in Aiken, South Carolina.

McGee was retired from MEI-Regis Corp. where he was a senior vice president. His duties included overseeing concessioned operations of beauty salons in major department and specialty stores across the country. During his career, he had received many awards and citations for excellence in his field.

He had previously been employed by Glemby International, also as a senior vice president.

McGee was a Lutheran. He had volunteered for several years with the White Rock Community Church General Store, an organization that assisted those infected with HIV.

McGee was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Lybrand McGee. He is survived by his partner of 21 years, Bill De Hoyos of Dallas; his sister, Betty Strickland of Aiken, S.C.; and his daughter Jennifer Suzanne Abell, and son, Jeffrey Marcell McGee, both of La Plata, Md.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
