Claire Regina Vinck passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, in Dallas, where she has resided for more 20 years. Vinck was born in Norwalk, Conn. on Sept. 25, 1947.

Vinck was a LPN and Vietnam veteran who was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas where she trained medical assistants for Vietnam. Her family and friends will remember her most for her delightful sense of humor and robust laugh. She helped many people in need and spent years providing gifts and food to a group home of adults with developmental disabilities in Dallas.

Volunteers of America named her 2000 volunteer of the year for her more than 14 years of service to children with disabilities.

She is survived by her mother ,Cecile Vinck of Norwalk; two sisters, Leslie Vinck of New Canaan, Conn. , and Sharon Simons and her husband, Ed, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; her brother, Paul Vinck of Logan, Utah; several nieces and a nephew, along with a large extended family of friends in Dallas.

A memorial service will be held on Dec .1 ,at 2 p.m. in the center court at the Stepping Stone Apartments, 2800 Douglas, in Dallas.
