John David Haggard, 62, of Irving died of a stroke on Sept. 28 at Baylor Medical Center in Irving.
Haggard, a retired accountant graduated from McKinney High School and Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, and had lived in the Dallas area for the last 10 years.
Haggard is survived by his partner of seven years, William Ward of Irving; his daughter, Mary Haggard of Maryland; his brother Dan Haggard of Euless; his mother, Sara Haggard of Irving; and his beloved dachshunds, Otto and Pepe.
Funeral services were held Oct. 1 at Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Dallas.
