Trish Hudson

Trish Hudson, 45, died during a trip to New York on Oct. 31. She was found dead in her hotel room. Cause of death is pending autopsy. No foul play is suspected.

She was born in Alaska and raised in California. At the age of 15, she moved to Texas and graduated from Gorman High School and Tarleton State University.

Throughout her career, she worked in Healthcare Administration and was devoted to providing quality care. Hudson had been office manager for Dr. Steven Pounders’ Oak Lawn medical office since June 2007. Before that she worked at North Texas Internal Medicine Associates for 13 years.

Friends and coworkers said that Hudson’s friends were her life, and that she had many. They said she was a pop culture genius who knew music, artists, actors and movies. She also loved karaoke and was a regular at the Round-Up.

Friends said Hudson cared more about making everyone around her happy that she often put herself last.

She is survived by her parents, Ralph and Marge Hudson, of Gorman, Texas and many friends in the gay community. She was an only child. In July, she was predeceased by two of her closest friends, Jeff Byron and Greg Arceneaux, who were killed in a private plane crash off the coast of Florida in July.

Services will be held on Nov. 7 in Gorman at Higginbotham Funeral Home, 219 W. Roberts St. at 2 p.m. 254-734-2272.]
