Rebecca “Quinn” Haggard, 48, of Dallas, died Aug. 6.

Haggard grew up in Denton, graduating from Denton High School in 1976 and from Texas Women’s University in 1980. She worked as a dental hygienist since her graduation.

She was a Christian, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a partner and a friend. She was an entertainer, a drama queen, a diva, a comedian and a prankster. She loved to laugh and play and tell stories, and she loved to travel.

Above all, she was a Texas cowgirl and a Haggard.

As an original member of the Women’s Chorus of Dallas, she sang for the Queen of England and at Carnegie Hall. She was re-baptized in 2005, renewing her commitment to her faith, and last January she traveled to Nigeria as a missionary.

A celebration of Haggard’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at White Rock Community Church, 9353 Garland Road.
