Reyes Fortuna Cruz

Reyes Fortuna Cruz, 51, died of pneumonia on Jan. 17 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.

Born Jan. 6, 1959 in Monterrey, Mexico, Cruz had lived in the Dallas area for the past 25 years. He worked for many years in building facilities management for the city of Richardson.

Cruz had a kind heart and volunteered at many organizations. He was a church member throughout his life and a proud "Norteño." He had a smile that would light up the room, and a quick laugh that was impossible to ignore. He loved to dance and sing, and will be missed by many.

A celebration of Cruz’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, at 517 Campana Court in Irving. Donations in his memory can be made to the Hill Country AIDS Ride.
