Don Lyndall Dent, 55, died of cancer on June 11 at his home in Dallas.
Born Sept, 9, 1954, Dent had lived in Dallas for the last 40 years. He was co-owner, with his partner Marion Weger, of Gratitude Vintage in Oak Lawn. He was a member of the Lambda Group of Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated 29 years of continuous sobriety on June 10.
Dent is survived by his partner of 20 years, Marion Weger, his mother and stepfather, Jean and Alvin Stivers of Azle, and his sister and brother-in-law, DeeAnn and Jimmy Smith of Weatherford.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Nelson-Tebedo Health Resource Center of Resource Center Dallas or to the American Cancer Society.
Weger and the rest of Dent’s family also expressed special thanks to their friends in the Oak Lawn community, to Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Lambda AA, Dallas Theological Seminary and everyone else who visited, brought food to the family and offered their love and support through Dent’s lengthy illness.

I am the Russian historian at Western Michigan University (20 years!). Itf am correct in disxerning that this is you, please accept my heartfelt condolences re your partner. I hope I’m right and I’ll hear from you.
You did indeed find the right Marion. I’m so sorry to say that he died last Monday, march 7. His memorial service is 16th at 3:00 at park cities Presbyterian church on Oak Lawn & Wycliffe.
