Lewis.Paul

Paul Lewis, born Jan. 19, 1945, left this life Nov. 28, 2014. He was preceded  in death by his longtime friends Larry Payne, John Paul Manness and Karen Daley. He is survived by his partner of 27 years, Kenneth Jones, friend Billie Rains, his god-daughter Summer Siemans, and all of his Caven family and friends.

Paul left his mark on this community in many ways. He was the coodinator for the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade for almost 20 years and served on many charitable committees throughout his career at Caven Enterprises. Most of all though, he took care of so many people that became sick with HIV/AIDS, whether getting them meals or actually taking them in to his own home. He had a heart as big as Dallas, but you had to get through that gruff exterior to see it.

He will be sorely missed by his friends and coworkers. There will always be an empty spot at the end of the bar at JR.’s, with a coffee with cream and two sweet and lows. We have truly lost an angel on this earth.

There will be a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, in the Rose Room, 3911 Cedar Springs Road. Doors open at 1 p.m.
