Herschel Weisfeld

Herschel Weisfeld reported he is safe in Puerto Vallarta after Hurricane Patricia passed over the Mexican resort.
Weisfeld, who ran for District 2 in 2013 against Adam Medrano, has a home in Puerto Vallarta. The western coast of Mexico is mountainous and that slowed the winds as soon as the storm hit land.
He sent this message on Facebook before the storm hit:

To all my friends and family who have called, emailed, texted and facebooked, I sincerely appreciate your thoughts, concern and prayers regarding Patricia, expected to be one of the worst hurricanes to hit the west coast of Mexico. I want to let you know that the city of Puerto Vallarta plans to turn off all power to the city starting at 2 p.m. today which will mean that there may be very limited ability to communicate and depending on the effects of the storm, they may not turn the power back on until after 1 a.m. Know that I am safe and secure as possible with the help of my entire construction crew we have attempted to button up the house and the construction site. We are stocked with food and beverages (of all types). The animals are all playing well with each other and we are as ready as we can be for mother nature’s uninvited rollercoaster ride! Now we will just have to wait and see if Patricia will be kind to us all.

This morning he reports he is safe and his home didn’t sustain damage.
