The Washington, D.C., Council voted today to legally recognize same-sex marriages in the district.
The measure now goes to Mayor Adrian Fenty, who has said he will sign it. Then it heads over to the U.S. House of Representatives for a 30-day review. If no one in Congress stops it, the bill becomes law.
Today’s 11-2 vote was the second of two required votes. The first vote, taken Dec. 1, was 12-1 in favor. D.C. has recognized legal same-sex marriages performed in other jurisdictions since May.заказ статей для сайтапродвижение сайтов москва
