On Friday afternoon, Crush, the LGBTQ+ nightspot on Oak Lawn posted a lengthy, detailed letter about its recent hardships on its socials. The letter revealed that the bar has been unable to make its weekly rent due to “much-needed repairs and a very slow last 2 months.” That has led the bar into dire financial straits.

“We’ve just received notice that if we don’t pay the full balance of over $30,000 with an additional 11,440 for rent being due again that 1st of October, we could be locked out of our space anytime our landlord feels he wants to and he’s not required to open it unless we cure our balance,” owners Andrew and David Perre stated in the letter.

The nightspot celebrated its one-year anniversary with headliner Kennedy Davenport in August.

In hopes of still saving the bar, the owners have started an online fundraiser with a goal of $50K. As of right now since its posting earlier this afternoon, more than $2,000 has been raised.

Crush is located at 2914 Oak Lawn Ave.

  1. Hilarious. The 2 guys that own Crush constantly post on social media pictures of their extensive travels. But now they want people to help them pay their rent! lol.
