More than 100 people came to the Oak Lawn Library as Rep. Jasmine Crockett voted on the first day of early voting. Other candidates including state Rep. Jessica Gonzalez and Rep. Venton Jones joined in on the crowds that filled the Kroger parking lot on Cedar Springs Road.
At an impromptu press conference, Crockett talked about opponent James Talarico’s canceled appearance on Colbert’s show yesterday. She said it was her understanding that the FCC did not persuade CBS to cancel the appearance. She also compared her fitness for office with Talarico’s saying she was more experienced with her two terms in Congress.
Early voting continues through Friday, Feb. 27.
