About 50 people took part in a bi visibility action at the 27th annual Creating Change conference held in Denver on Feb. 4-8.
“We wanted to make a positive and affirming gesture and say we’re here and numerous,” said bi activist and writer Robyn Ochs. “This wasn’t a response to something bad but just a friendly reminder.”
Faith Cheltenham, an organizer of the event, said it was in honor of the 20th anniversary of a bi action at Creating Change in 1995 in honor of Loraine Hutchins whose partner was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She called Hutchins the “founding mother of the bi movement.”
