WHO: A music legend, Prince has produced ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles during his career. Prince founded his own recording studio and label, writing, self-producing and playing most, or all, of the instruments on his recordings. He has won seven Grammy™ Awards, a Golden Globe™ and an Academy Award™. In 2004, Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In that same year Rolling Stone ranked Prince #28 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to Robert Larsen in his book, History of Rock and Roll, Prince is “one of the most talented and commercially successful pop musicians of the last 20 years”. On February 4th, 2007, he performed for the Super Bowl XLI Halftime show, Billboard.com called it the greatest Super Bowl performance ever.
That’s pretty major, but $1,500 a pop? Well, that ticket price probably trumps all the other shows too in addition to ruling out a whole lot of people to this supposedly all-inclusive event.
He has lost his mind! I have always been a big fan and have always bought his music and gone to his concerts and this hurts that he would finally come back to dallas and then have the tickets so expensive to where his biggest fan base being the middle class cant even go!
Prince didn’t put the event together. He’s only helping this charity make money. I’m sure he’ll be back during his “Welcome To America” tour where ticket prices will be normal and affordable. The fact that Prince is helping out The Goss-Michael Foundation which helps young people is incredibly commendable. Having seen Prince a half dozen times since 1986 and being one of his biggest fans, I’m cool with not being able to go to this charity. It’s not all about me. It’s about the young artists in high school and such that are the artists of tomorrow. Bravo to Prince and the producers of the event for being able to get him!
yea it is alot of money to go to this charity concert.i told my dad about prince coming to dallas and he got really exicited hes like the biggest fan .lol and tell u the truth he looks like him dnt believe hmu on fb and ill show a pic of him him and my dad met once and people thought my dad was prince but now i gotta tell my dad that it is 1500 dollars for one ticket dang i hope the prince goes down b4 den.
Prince isn’t the one setting up the prices. Either way, it’s for charity! Finally, the event coordinator’s aren’t stupid. The coordinators probably boosted the prices b/c they know people who go to see him, usually will go to any lengths to be there, whether it is money or distance!!
Prince is worth every penny. The fact that its going to charity is just a bonus. I too wish I could afford it, but I can’t wait for him to come to Dallas, TX.
