Partners in committed relationships for a year or more would be eligible

DENVER — A committee of the Colorado House has approved a bill extending health insurance coverage to the partners of gay and lesbian state workers.

Under the bill approved Tuesday, March 10 by the State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, partners who have been in a committed relationship with a state employee for at least a year would be eligible.

Some Republican senators say the bill violates the will of the voters. In 2006, voters rejected a ballot proposal that would have guaranteed some rights for same-sex couples registered as domestic partners.

The bill now goes to the House Appropriations Committee.продвижение женского сайта
