Music Ministry presenting concert
The Cathedral of Hope will present its Hero of Hope award to Lambda Legal during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday, July 19, in recognition of Lambda Legal’s tireless efforts in the fight for marriage equality.
Receiving the award will be Camilla Taylor, senior staff attorney in the Midwest Regional Office, and the lead counsel on the landmark case that led to equal marriage rights for lesbian and gay people in Iowa. Taylor will address the congregation at both morning services.
The church’s Music Ministry will present an encore performance of "Our Song Shall Rise to Thee" that same day at 6 p.m.
The concert first was performed at the invitation of the United Church of Christ at its General Synod held in Grand Rapids, Mich., last month.
All services free and open to all. The Cathedral of Hope is located at 5910 Cedar Springs Road.

First of all, whatever happened to the separation of church and state ??? I suppose that COH is exempt from this ideology.
But how ironic that neither COH nor Lambda Legal didn’t seem too interested in stepping in when the ENDA fight was going on, only on an issue which benefits predominantly “GL” couples ONLY !!
So much for COH’s belief of “radical inclusion”…….
How much did Mr. Piazza have a hand in advocating this political “award” ceremony ???
