The unofficial campaign event Monday, March 3 also will feature actors Ellen Greene of "Pushing Daisies" and Bobby Gant of "Queer as Folk." Clinton is not scheduled to be there.

"It’s a chance to kind of motivate the community and thank the volunteers who come from all over the country," said Claire Lucas, a Clinton supporter who is chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee’s Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council.

"We’re going to have a huge turnout."

Lucas, who will also be in attendance, said a similar LGBT event in New Hampshire on the eve of that state’s primary was very successful.

It is unknown whether Barack Obama supporters plan any LGBT events in Dallas.

Sue Wyll, a former board member for Dallas’ Black Tie Dinner, said she agreed to organize the Clinton event after being contacted by Lucas.

"We’re known about town as being able to put on a big party and rally the troops," Lyll said. "My e-mail has been slammed already. It’s going to be entertaining, it’s going to be informative, and it’s going to be empowering."
