Earlier we told you what a wonderful person Cindy McCain was for filming a NOH8 video in which she took a stand against her anti-gay husband, Sen. John McCain, on “don’t ask don’t tell.” So much for that. AmericaBlog notes that today on Twitter, McCain suddenly reversed herself and said while she supports the NOH8 campaign, she also supports her husband’s position on DADT, meaning she opposes its repeal. In other words, she now supports a policy which, as she said in the NOH8 video, drives LGBT kids to suicide. Or in other words, John has gotten to her in a big way. Cindy McCain’s tweet, shown below, prompted AmericaBlog’s John Aravosis to call her a “hateful two-faced homophobic fraud.” And, well, we’d have to say we pretty much agree.
I completely agree. I became a tweeter follower of her’s after her H08 stint and the moment she proclaimed this I removed her completely. I should have figured as much though from the McCains!

I say it wasn’t her original opinion, but it differed wildly from her extremely homophobic husbands, and as such, he probably pressured her into changing her public opinion.
Maybe she misunderstood the question? I hope…
Maybe she stands by his right to believe and support what ever he wants to in a free country? I am a conservative gay in the medical profession, I stand by the rights of everyone to have an opinion. That’s what makes this America: Freedom. We have to help each other and allow everyone else to be free as we do so. Just as we ask them to.
Aside from Sunny, all of you crack me up. You talk about the McCains and indirectly, Republicans as if they are so different than any other politician. I absolutely believe that she supports her husband’s decision because it is his decision and she believes as we all should that he is entitled to that right. But before you start throwing so many stones let’s not forget that Obama just proved to the gay community that he is totally full of shit. Remember all those campaign promises? Well he had two years to do something for gay rights but he never did. Why is that? Because he never planned on doing anything but he certainly took your money, support and vote. No politician is going to actually rally for gay rights until the Baby Boomers are no longer the voting majority. Once they are gone you’ll be shocked to see support for gay rights coming from both sides of the political isle. It’s not a liberal/conservative issue so much as it is a generational issue. But again most gays are so blindly supportive of the liberals they can’t bring themselves to understand that concept. And for those of you who say Obama was busy or didn’t have enough time, bullshit. All he had to do was take five minutes on the phone with Pelosi and tell her to introduce a bill. But now all of the sudden he wants it brought up. And why is that? So he can blame the failure on Republicans. No excuse will make up for the two years where Democrats controlled everything and he did nothing for gay rights
