Chad Mantooth
Associate Publisher | Advertising Director, Dallas Voice
I grew up smack dab in the heart of the Bible Belt—Kansas! Like every good Kansas boy, I made my way to the University of Kansas, where, after a solid 4 (okay, maybe 5) years, they handed me a BS in Journalism. My dad always said I was great at the “BS” part… turns out he wasn’t wrong.
Fresh out of college with my shiny degree, I landed my first big gig—an unpaid radio internship. My parents were thrilled. But hey, I didn’t stay free labor for long! I worked my way up in the promotions department and spent the next decade in radio, proving you can get paid to run your mouth for a living.
In my spare time (because radio didn’t quite fill my “talking to people” quota), I also worked in the Sponsorship Department of The American Royal—one of Kansas City’s largest non-profits. They give out over $2 million annually in scholarships. What can I say? I’ve been told I’m a giver.
After a brief, drama-filled stint in the world of Broadway (jazz hands not included), I packed my bags and headed to Texas. Since 2018, I’ve proudly worn the title of Advertising Director at The Dallas Voice, where I help businesses shine while having way too much fun doing it. After years of begging, in 2025, I was able to successfully wear down my boss and he gave me a new title, Associate Publisher… the number 2 guy in charge! I am so proud of the work we do at Dallas Voice and OUT North Texas! We are giving a voice to the 5th largest LGBTQ community in the country here in North Texas.
I share my home in Dallas with a ridiculously cute guy in my mirror and live in Uptown.
