GEAR, Resource Center of Dallas’ program for the transgender community, celebrated its third birthday with a party and awards ceremony on Thursday, March 26. During the celebration, GEAR officers presented the Henry Ramirez III GEAR Ally Award to Rita Cotterly and Jennifer Owens for their outstanding service to and support of the transgender community. They also presented the Katherine Walton Award to Renee Baker and Maeve O’Conner in recognition of their service and leadership on behalf of the transgender community. The latter award is named after one of the original founders of GEAR who died shortly before GEAR officially became a program of Resource Center of Dallas.
