Gilda’s Club offers support groups, networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a non-residential, home-like setting for men, women, and children living with any type of cancer, and their family and friends.
Lesbian support group
A lesbian support group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Andra Baker, L.P.C., a cognitive-behavioral therapist and a three-time cancer survivor, facilitates The group offers support for lesbians currently in treatment for cancer or who are cancer survivors. The group is free and open to new members, but call first. 214-219-8877.
YWCA
YWCA offers breast cancer detection programs for the uninsured. Dallas County Health and Human Services will partner with the YWCA on Friday, Oct. 14 to offer free mammograms. The UT Southwestern Mobil Mammography Unit will be at Dallas County Health and Human Services, 2377 N. Stemmons, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Women ages 35-64 who have not had a mammogram in the past year and do not have medical insurance that covers mammograms can get mammograms here.

Breast diagnostic exams are provided at Methodist Hospital for women who receive abnormal results on their mammogram.
All services are offered free of charge. Transportation assistance is available.
