On Friday, Los Angeles-based butch artist Rio Romeo debuted their newest single, “Jane Freaks Me Out,” which dives into the feeling of excitement and uncertainty from a new fling.
The track is co-produced with Gregg Wattenberg (Goo Goo Dolls, John Legend, Grace Vanderwaal).
“‘Jane Freaks Me Out’ is an example of the classic ‘He-picked-me-up-in-his-truck-and-I-felt-butterflies’ song stereotype but if it was flipped on its head to instead be about a very cool, very hot lesbian driving an old Toyota Crown,” Romeo said in Friday’s release.
