AA launches LGBT advisory council
Officials with American Airlines announced in April that the company has established two advisory councils: one focused on LGBT travelers, the other on women travelers.

Members of the airline’s advisory councils provide ongoing and ad hoc market feedback on the airline’s position within their respective communities.

They are also asked to contribute input on market trends, community concerns and program concepts that promote growth within these customer groups, including the content on two specialized marketing pages on American’s Web site: aa.com/rainbow and aa.com/women.

"The advisory councils are a natural extension of our longtime commitment to diverse communities, internally and externally," said Roger Frizzell, American’s vice president for corporate communications and advertising.

Cantoni kicks off Posh Paws in June
Contemporary furniture store Cantoni will host Posh Paws, a two-part program promoting awareness of pets at risk and animal rescue efforts in Cantoni’s five market including Dallas.

Posh Paws was inspired by a stylized polyethylene puppy created by designer Eero Aarnio. Cantoni has teamed up with celebrities, artists, sports figures, authors, musicians and businesses to embellish 18 polyethylene puppies to be auctioned off at a gala event on June 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cantoni Dallas, 4800 Alpha Road. A total of 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Operation Kindness, the area’s oldest and largest nonprofit animal welfare organization.

Other events are scheduled for each weekend in June, including such as Cantoni "Yappy Hour" each Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with wine for the people and samples of doggie pastries for the pets. Cantoni will also present the Posh Paws Pageant, with the winner to be crowned during the Gala and Auction on June 26. All finalists will be models in the couture pet fashion show.

Information on the pageant and a full schedule of Posh Paw events can be found online at cantoni.com/poshpaws.
