Bunnies on the Bayou will celebrate their 27th year on Easter Sunday, April 16, at Wortham Center Fish Plaza. This year, Pride Houston is one of the Bunnies’ beneficiaries and Bunnies on the Bayou will be the Honorary Grand Marshal – Organization at this year’s Houston Pride Parade. For this year’s Bunnies party, infamous New York City DJ and drag persona, Lady Bunny, will be spinning Houston’s largest outdoor cocktail party with a special performance by the Flyboys of Flag Troupe Houston. General admission tickets are $25 in advance from the Bunnies or at M2M Fashion, or $30 at the gate; VIP tickets are $100. Admission includes free cocktails. All gate monies go to local charities. Additionally, the Bunnies are looking for volunteers to help out with the event. Full details can be found on their website at www.bunnies.org.
The Easter festivities don’t start or stop with Bunnies, but with a whole Jungle of weekend parties. Bayou City Boys Club presents Jungle 14: A Space Odyssey, a series of events April 13 through 16, featuring stellar DJs and performances at several local venues. Jungle is another worthwhile Houston tradition, with all net proceeds donated to Houston-area HIV/AIDS education and service providers.
