I don’t have any details yet, but CNN.com has a “breaking news” headline saying that Allen Andrade has been convicted of first degree murder in the beating death of trans teen Angie Zapata.
Andrade’s lawyers had argued, in the classical “trans panic” defense, that he had just “snapped” after finding out that the person he had spent the night with was a biological male.

Thank you Tammy for following this story, we were hoping that the verdict came out this way. Although I consider this a hate crime and there was no transgender panic defense just like there was no gay panic defense in Jimmy Lee Dean case. How many more of us will they try to kill in the name of religion.
Wake up folks and pay attention to this kind of news the laws that govern us are not that strong for a hate crimes when it happen to us. We need to change that!
