Harvey Meissner, right, president and general manager of The Hidden Door Inc., this week presented a check for $25,000 to Jason Vallejo, executive director of Dallas Hope Charities, an organization serving homeless LGBT youth. The money comes from the Anthony Bobrow Trust, established with funds from the estate of the long-time Hidden Door owner, Tony Bobrow, after his death in 2018. This donation, which Vallejo said will be used to help provide meals to homeless youth, marks the trust’s second donation to Dallas Hope Charities; the Anthony Bobrow Trust donated $100,000 to the agency in December, bringing the trust’s total donation amount to almost $400,000 in its first year. Meissner also noted this week that the Hidden Door, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, just had its new website — HiddenDoor.bar — go live online, and that exclusive Hidden Door merchandise — shirts and caps — are available there.
